Are Do Better Colab Socks Vegan and Cruelty Free?

Are Do Better Colab Socks Vegan and Cruelty Free?

Short Answer? Yep. 100%.

Our socks are vegan and cruelty-free. There are no animal fibres, no animal based glues or dyes, and no animal testing at any stage of production.

But we didn’t just stop there. We designed them this way on purpose. We wanted to create a softer, cleaner, lower impact sock that still performs.

No Wool, No Silk, No Leather

Most premium socks are made from merino wool, and for a long time, that was seen as the “best” option for performance.

But not everyone can or wants to wear wool. Some people are allergic, others have sensitive skin and find it irritating, and some just prefer not to wear animal products.

Instead of following the herd (literally), we created a high-performance alternative using GOTS certified organic cotton as the hero fibre. It’s breathable, soft, and grown without nasty chemicals. We blend it with just a touch of technical fibre (rubber elastane, polyester and spandex) for elasticity and to help with technical features. Otherwise you’d have a floppy sock and no one wants that!

What Does Cruelty-Free Really Mean?

When we say cruelty-free, we mean:

  • No animal derived fibres like wool, silk, or cashmere
  • No animal based glues or dyes
  • No animal testing in any part of our supply chain

The Bonus? Lower Environmental Impact

By using organic cotton, we reduce our reliance on animal agriculture. It’s a small but meaningful choice that:

  • Avoids toxic pesticides and fertilisers
  • Uses less water than conventional cotton
  • Reduces the shedding of microplastics like synthetic socks do

Our packaging is also 100% home compostable or recyclable, so your order treads lighter from start to finish.

Tested Where It Counts

We’re big skiers, snowboarders, CrossFitters, mountain bikers and hikers ourselves. We kinda made these socks for ourselves, so we made sure they performed. They’ve been tested on real feet, in real alpine conditions and gruelling gym sessions.

So yes, they’re vegan and cruelty free. But they’re also comfy, durable, and built to move. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, gym, trails or just chilling at home, these socks are totally there for it.
